Comedian, writer, and actress Tamra Brown is thrilled to debut her solo show Bus People at the 2026 Hollywood Fringe Festival.
Bus People is a showcase of colorful, yet relatable characters with different perspectives on L.A. public transportation. Tamra was born legally blind so she’s relied on buses and trains for most of her life. She’s met people who fear public transit, people who literally live on it, people who use it to save the planet, and people who use it as a dating service. The goal of her show is to challenge misconceptions about L.A. Metro and shed light on the history and constant comparisons to NYC transit. She also touches on safety concerns and offers suggestions on how to advocate for the clean, walkable city we deserve. It’s part love letter to Los Angeles and part civic reckoning. Ultimately, it will make you reconsider why the F*CK you won’t just take the bus.

Most recently, Tamra appears in Jake Johnson’s feature film Self Reliance on Hulu.
You can also check out Tamra’s comedy on her TikTok and Instagram channels, where many of her comedy characters and impressions have gone viral. Her followers particularly enjoy the content series Wife Wives, which is a parody of what reality shows would have been like if they existed in the 1950s.
Tamra has had sketches featured on Funny or Die and WhoHaha, and she’s a member of Liquid Feet – America’s most earnest TV theme song dance troupe. They’ve appeared on ABC’s “The Gong Show” and the “Angie Tribeca” Binge-a-thon on TBS.
When she’s not performing, you’ll likely find Tamra exploring obscure L.A. landmarks, researching tiki bars, listening to baseball on a transistor radio, or standing outside a concert venue waiting for someone to toss her a free ticket.
